BBQ, Bands & Brews

The Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce is proud to present its 2nd annual BBQ, Bands & Brews on June 22, 2013. This is an event for the entire family featuring a variety of activities including barbeque competitions, entertainment, and local vendors offering varied products and services. BBQ, Bands & Brews will again include a newly sanctioned Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) event and will draw contestants from across Virginia and beyond in the categories of pork, ribs, chicken and brisket. As an official State Barbeque Championship of Virginia, this event offers local residents and visitors a unique experience!


Bike MS: Tour de Vine 2013

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bike MS: Tour de Vine! Join us as we ride through Virginia wine country's most beautiful scenery, all in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bike MS: Tour de Vine starts and finishes at Pollak Vineyards with non-stop live music, an engaging program, special anniversary activities and catered meals. Whether you're a novice or enthusiast, we have a route for you! Join us to do your part in creating a world free of multiple sclerosis. June 8-9, 2013.


Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival

The Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival presents a series of chamber music concerts and musical education programs of the highest quality every September. It is dedicated to educating the community about chamber music, as well as the continual development of musical styles through teaching, improvisation, and cooperation with local arts organizations. The Artistic Directors bring a fresh approach to chamber music, choosing standard classical repertoire, as well as programming that departs from conventions. The 14th season takes place September 8 – 22, 2013, with concerts at the Paramount Theater and UVA’s Old Cabell Hall, plus other festive events throughout the two weeks.

Grace Church Farm Tour

On June 8, spend a delightful, early summer day in the Keswick Hunt Country for a first-hand look at some of the farms. Grace Church will open its doors to visitors; it is considered to be one of the most beautiful, historic churches in Virginia. The original Grace Church was built in 1742 and proudly counts Thomas Jefferson among its early vestry members. In addition to the tour, relax at the country fair, enjoy food, children's activities, pony rides, animals, artisans, vendors, live music and more.


Heritage Harvest Festival

The 7th annual Heritage Harvest Festival, hosted by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation in partnership with Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, celebrates Jefferson's legacy in a fun, affordable, family-oriented, educational event promoting gardening, sustainability, local food and the preservation of heritage plants. The 2013 Heritage Harvest Festival will be held September 6-7 at Monticello on the West Lawn. Participants will continue to enjoy the traditional tastings, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, family-friendly activities and a variety of garden tours and exhibits. Festival parking available at Piedmont Virginia Community College.
